Large Millipede in San Diego?

WOW! I need to go find one! I've also seen a tarantula in this park. Where should I look? Mountains, or by streams?

Night time is the right time. I've only had the opportunity to collect them once and it was within a stone's throw of a river, moist and cool.

You've seen them also KyuZo, Z? I don't believe it

But sounds like we hit the jackpot if we really have these guys around...probably one of the very largest US millipedes!

Others have seen them as far north as Oregon. You have a lot more gems to be found in CA. I think the longest Parajulid lives near the coast in central CA?

Do you have any clue what the species is, Z?

IDK. California has alot of variety I suppose...it's just so big...and has so many different climates. It's almost a good thing we don't have alot of insects and such here in southern California. I just don't like venomous creatures very much.

Seems they give Hiltonius hebes as the species

I found one! A bit smaller than the photos posted by the previous gentleman but nonetheless I was shocked. I had no clue anything like this lived here. I also discovered that my "small little centipedes" can actually get 5"+ long! Yikes.
