land hermit crab care and advice?

I have had a hermit crab as a pet for a long time now in a 10 gallon tank. and I recently bought a bio-dude bioactive kit for him/her. I was wondering in your experience, how moist should the tank be? I have been spaying mine every once in a while but im not really sure. I also have had really shallow water pools for a long time but today I used deli cups to allow the crabs to fully submerge in the water. any advise?

I think they need moist substrate, similar to isopods/millipedes, but deep enough to bury themselves.
