These are the coolest spiders. Great colors AND displays. I gotta have some. LOL

I keep looking at these. These would be my ultimate T... I'm a long, long way off from working with something like this. How "high caliber" are they?

I would say they are the arboreal version of Haplopelma lividum.
IMO they are not even close.
L. Violaceopes are so much better a show tarantula than any haplopelma are.;P
In terms of husbandry they are quite similar though.

I was referring to their temperament and coloration only... and I certainly wouldn't house a large arboreal like I would a medium terrestrial.

LOL IMO the L. violaceopes are much more defensive, maybe because they don't really have a burrow to run into...

This girl is massive!At least 7"+ legspan and one of the most docile spiders I have seen hehe!Absolutely love this species :D

and I thought my L.sp.borneo black was weird because she's not aggressive
my L.nigerrimum slings on the other hand are really aggressive even
at 1'' I got threat displays.
