You have some nice stuff, even though we dont see eye to eye on the numbers you collect good specimens. It is a shame you do not label though without labels they are completely worthless as scientific specimens. I am very glad to see the other material labeled. Great blister beetle I forget the species but it is a spectacular one. I have only collected it once.

love finding these under the ole dusk-to-dawn
Did you find those recently? Seems late in the season for wild D.tityus and really really late for L.elephus.

D.tityus are always brown when they're damp and freshly emerged though I haven't seen one stay that way (except for 'greased' specimens in dead collections).

they were not supposed to be for long term scientific specimens..any data needed from them was taken at the time of collection, including locale/sex/elevation/size/weight.
after that most are reared for a time and then frozen..some are kept a bit longer.
after this time they become part of my personal exhibit, where later they may get additional study.
i just dont have labels on my personal exhibit.

secondly, as far as the two dozen taken, they may very well be the only
ones that have and will ever taken from that area.
i collect on remote, large, and very private locations that no one but myself is allowed to collect in..[and the property owners are not collectors]
while i appreciate your concern for their well being,I collect for myself.

i seriously doubt that catching two dozen is an impact..or issue.

guys... get a room!!{D

Wow loxo, and Ted for that matter.... if you ever collect any more pairs of the L. elaphus, D. tityus, or C. gloriosa shoot me a PM I'd love to purchase a pair off of ya. I was huge into the beetle breeding, but then I got rid of almost everything once I realized how illegal the exotic beetles were. There are very few native species left that I'd bother to rear, and those are all some of them! :worship:
