There are a number of suspicious things about this ad.

http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=171967

I found all three photos already posted elsewhere online.

http://www.redwineexotics.com/tarantulas.html

I asked for current pics of the subfusca he has available. An e-mail came from a Jeff Bond, while the ad says the seller's name is James.

Here is what the e-mail said:

Jeff Bond said:
These pics were taken yesterday.
He also attached 2 pictures (which I've attached to this post). I was able to pull exif data off of one of them which gave the date of Feb 26, 2003. The other picture did not have exif data. The second subfusca pic was the same one posted in the ad and already posted elsewhere online. Clearly not taken yesterday.

I've notified the seller of this thread. He said the P. metallicas were already sold so somebody may have already been taken.

Thanks for posting this and for doing the research; I saw the ad and was quite suspicious myself.

I hope whomever may have bought the metallicas sees this and is able to take action.

This dude must think I'm stupid. I've been talking to him on the phone trying to get a pic of the P. metallica's from him and every time he sends me a pic from a website. I told him to take a pic of the T with a piece of paper with his name and date on it and this is what he sent me. Dude put a piece of paper on his computer screen and took it with his cellphone.

I think an admin here should delete his original post and get it over with before someone (else?) gets taken by this obvious scammer. Since we can't add posts to his original, it will still sit there with no clear warning unless someone sees _this_ thread.

If you search "Jeff Bond" you will find that this isn't the first time this name has been associated with this sort of thing.

It's good that there are individuals here who are willing to be the AB 'Super-sleuths', protecting the little people from scams! :)

Yeah, yeah. The only checked in because they wanted the spiders, but it still benefits the rest of us too.
