Krystal--A. geniculata?

Hey, what did you end up doing with your late A. geniculata. I know that you were keeping it in the freezer untill you figured out the best method of preservation. Did you settle on something?

I think she got it mummified.

yep--i had him mummified. and it was the best $7000 i've ever spent---

just kidding! actually, i kept him in my freezer until it creeped me out to the point where i had to move his corpse outside--thanks to the severe weather the northeast had this winter. and whenever the snow would melt, i'd dig a hole in new snow and bury it again. finally, after all of the snow melted, i just kind of left him (in a ziplock baggie) outside, by my backdoor.

a few weeks later, i discovered he was missing--probably picked up by the local trash-collectors who clean the apartment areas. i really REALLY wish i could have seen the look on the face of whomever disposed of him. it was obvious it was a tarantula--they were probably wondering how in the heck i managed to have such a pest control problem and more importantly, how i was able to maneuver it into a ziplock baggie!

Aww. That's too bad.

But it would have been good to see that person's face!
