[/COLOR]thanks. he is very lovely. i dont really have too much maitanence. just keep the water in, and feed every two weeks. make sure the thermostat kicks on. remove poop. bout it really. although when he/she gets larger so will the poop. haha
Lol, yep the bigger the snake the bigger the poop.

I have had BPs and boas, I just found regulating humidity, and all the little stuff just too time consuming with all the other critters and my kids. Certainly not super high maintenance but just not really my thing. I do love snakes though. :)

for humidity i just have two waterbowls. one on the cold end, and one on top of the flexwatt. then have some plexiglass to cover the screen all but a inch. usually stays at 70-75%. soon im going to get boaphiles for my boa and python.

This little guy is growing like a weed. Pictures do him no justice, but his face and eyes are breathtaking. He is super super gentle, and absolutely loves being handled.

Thanks! Im not too much into corns myself. I had a ball once, and they are great snakes also. I would prefer the red tail just because they are neater i think.

Attractive devil ya got there.

The prices on some morphs -- whether we're talking snakes or lizards (particularly geckos) -- just blows my mind. Saw a gorgeous leucistic ball python at a show recently. Seller wanted $1000 for it. There isn't any animal I want that badly.

1,000 dollars? are you kidding me, that is CHEAP as far as Ball Python morphs. The top morphs for Ball Pythons start at $25,000 and up.

So true on poop size (it sucks!) That's hilarious you think that about humidity w/snakes. I have the exact opposite feeling w/my Ts. I find Ts way more high maintenance than my 2 pythons and my boa..wow..that's funny.

This is Kong, my hypo pastel red tail boa. He is about 3 feet long. Picture does not do him justice. He has gorgeous pastel pink coloring. He isn't to hard to get out, but putting him back into his home is a hard thing to do. I am glad that I have this guy/girl. Really need to get him sexed. He slams frozen/thawed small rats hard. Would eventually like to get a male/female of another cool morph to breed. Enjoy!

Catfish gorgeous boa!!! Reminds me of a similar but different boa morph I saw at a show..Wished I had saved the pic because it was sorta like yours, but much more deep red (some new color morph). I love my Hog Island Boa =)

I know what you mean. especially the crested geckos. ive never owned one, never will. they all just look kinda dumb i think.

didnt know that. just done alot of reading that Retics are ornry. i could have gotten a 13' albino burm at one time for 200. but im not into snakes that big.

Yes, retics are typically quite assertive, unlike most B.c.i, or B.c.c.'s. Even the super tiger retics are not that nice. I'd never own a retic because they are just not docile relative to a BP for example, and even if they were, for the reason you mentioned above, I don't want to own a snake that requires 2 people to handle it. My friend had a large retic, excess of 16', it's not a snake you go in alone with generally speaking. He got out alive he was "lucky", I say "lucky" because he has about 10-15 yrs experiences dealing with large constrictors and hots too. So he was able to get free when it wrapped around him.

All snakes are solid muscle. Even my boa, she's only 5 ft, when she presses against me in an assertive type of way (when she's hungry), you can feel the strength, it's like a crowbar wrapping around you. When she's on my arm just hanging out, if she decides to hold on (and she has), there's is no way I can take her off w/out hurting her, short of applying some non-lethal stimulus to her head, like water. She can definitely slow down my circulation. That's how strong they are. Just like others on AB say respect Ts esp OW species, the same needs to be said for snakes, esp the larger constrictors or you will find yourself in a world of trouble. They are our pets, but they are wild animals.

Just wanted to give this thread a little update. Not long ago i took Kong to meet Damon at BFE Pets. We probed Kong, and turns out i have a female! She has done a little growing, but Damon has stated that she might be a hog island or other small locality. Being she is 4 years old and still only 2.5-3' long. Also he thinks she is possibly a a super hypo instead of regular hypo. Time will tell, as next fall we will be breeding her with one of Damon's males. Ill try and get some good pictures of her sometime. Her coloring is getting more and more beautiful, and she just shed last night. This girl is a complete sweetheart, except to rats :).

Damon if you read this, feel free to pitch in and remind me what morph your male is lol.
