Did you completely empty the P.muticus' enclosure? I would make sure there are no other spiders in there. Empty the tank, sift through the substrate, look for remains, anything.
Do you know people in your street who also own tarantula? Maybe they are a G.pulchripes short?

It has happened at least twice to me that i thought a T has escaped and it was just burrowed in a clot of webbing so really do go throught every small bit of substrate
