keeping mealworms

just bought some giant mealworms, i would like to know how to keep them.. theyll only be living fo max of 10 days... cheers!

i got them in a bag! lol. atm i just have them in a ice cream tub but with nothing in... how about a load of potato peel or something?

Use something dry like oatmeal flakes or bran. Mould or mites are not something you want. Something dry and edible.
The second link I gave you tells you how to mix a medium for them;)

i'll put them on some rice krispy things and a some bread crumbs. will give them a slice of apple to munch on!

just watch out for mould and mites, but if you are planning on feeding them off in less than 10 days there shouldn't be any problem:)

If you got them in any bran/oatmeal substrate, just put them in the fridge in their container and substrate and they will be fine.

That culture "recipe" is more for breeding them than anything else. If you keep them on porridge oats and nothing else they will keep for months (quite litterally, I had some for about 6months, still alive after I'd done nothing at all with them, but I decided to throw them out because I didn't need them).

No prob. One of the better caresheets I have seen:)
The culture may have been for a long term breeding culture but I always prefer to offer the best food and care for feeders, since you are what you eat. :)
