I want to start collecting scorpions along with my spiders and I was just wondering which ones seem to be more popular. I see emperor scorpions everywhere, but I never really see anything aside from those, unless of course I'm at the reptile show.

Depends on who you are talking too.

LPS' generally have Pandinus sp. (emps/red claws), possibly a Heterometrus sp., Hadrurus (desert hairy), and maybe Hadogenes (flat rocks). There are exceptions, but that is normal lps fare.

For Hobbyists, the picture is not as clear.

Some of the more popular geunus' are Tityus, Androctonus, Parabuthus, Hottentotta, Grophus, and Centruroides.

But there are different tastes as well. I know people who only keep Hottentotta. I love Diplocentrus and some micro Vaejovis. Heck, I know someone right now mostly keeping Psuedouroctonus species! So with hobbyists, there is a lot more variation. Hope this was helpful.
