Sorry for asking help on an ID.. But.. I have no idea what this is.. I have never seen one of these around her before.. Im sure there are more.. I just have never seen it..

Im OK with T's.. I enjoy my T's.. But true spiders.. They still kind of freak me out.. Not sure why..

Anyways.. Here is the critter I found today while cleaning out my storage building...

What do y'all think it is? Sorry I couldnt get a shot of its eyes.. It is about 2" DLS..

Nice looking spider! I have one similar to it, but I don't even know what mine is... It just wandered into the school one day and became my pet. Cool spider.:D

They're like mini-Ts. Long lifespan for a true spider too. I kept a female in a water bottle for 4 years. A smaller one's verging on 5 right now. The males look like Loxosceles on steroids, even down to the violin shape on the carapace.

Nope.. Its deff. not a MM <muffled talking>.... It has to be something else... Female something else.. LoL..

Well if it is a male its not mature...
I guess my terrible eyesight saw hooks and enlarged palps that weren't really there. lol

Eh, at least the species was correct.

A friend of mine in Lafayette once had an adult female for a couple of years. Her opisthosoma was the size of a large grape. Talk about overfeeding! {D{D:eek:

How does this guy freak you out? It's like a mini-T. He looks awesome.... I wish I had those where I live, that would be so cool. Great find!

IDK why it does.. I just know it does.. Like I said.. Trues are not really my thing.. I most get freaked out when I walk into a web face first.. Not knowing what I am walking into..

Hmm... I just did some research on Kukulcania and found they are araneamorphs. I always thought they were Mygalomorphs. Oh well, still awesome looking.

Great little trues...don't let 'em freak you out. They're vicious with prey, but not so much if handled. Quite active, too.

Personally, I love trying to ID as long as the poster isn't posting something that belongs on a cryptozoology forum(blurry/dark/formless).

Given the black coloration, it's probably a K. arizonica, rather than the K. hibernalis.

Venom, Thus far all Kukulcania collected in Caddo/Bossier parishes have proven/ keyed out hibernalis. Larger indivs/ females frequently look very blackish. Tommy is located only a stones throw away, geographically speaking. Interesting, though. I'll look ino it more. :)
