just a thought on mites and webbing

i was thinking that if a tarantula like p. murinus webs itself in a thick cocoon like web and stays in it most of the time and only comes out to hunt or somethng, is it less susceptible to mites?

good question...i dunno? i would think it would be about the same because its the substrate thats harboring the mites not the spider itself. and since the mites move around the cage, im sure the T would still get em.
