Has anyone on here ever pinned a jumping spider? I’ve been trying to find information online however I’ve only seen one video with very little information. My guy is sitting in the freezer since I found him dec 27 (unfortunately he was a mature male so I knew it was inevitable but I loved him so much as he was my first jumper so I really want to try and pin him) I bought a scalpel to try and attempt stuffing the abdomen however he’s so tiny. So I’m not sure if I should or if I should just let the abdomen shrivel. I do not want to use alcohol or do a wet specimen as I know overtime they turn into somewhat of a mess. Any advice would be great. Thanks

You can pin the specimen down and cover the entire thing with silica beads in a box, leave it there for a week or two and you're done
I believe you would need a microscope to make sure to make tiny incisions to stuff the abdomen....small specimens are difficult to stuff and people usually dry them instead

I used to pin a lot of insects arachnids and such, and while I personally never tried the silica beads method that's already been mentioned I have heard of it. I usually used rubbing alcohol, and have yet to notice any decomposition (I still have most specimens). Although this may be cheaper the silica might be more effective as I said I didn't try that method.
