It just means it was breathing. If you had V. mandarinia in your area, the local beekeepers would be the first to know, and it probably would have been reported by now and made some headlines. They are a very large hornet, even bigger than the V. crabro, and they are extremely territorial of both their nest and food!Malkavian said:Actually I think I did see one today on campus in Charlotte, NC.
