Wow, that looks amazing. I'm suprised they arent in the hobby more often, Tanzinia is one of the most exported areas of africa in terms of bugs, and i would have thought they would turn up more often. I supose they are just fairly rare in the wild.

Dan that's correct,... those black pedes are indeed quite rare,... i've seen the same specie from South-Africa as well,...
i'm not so sure all bugs from Tanzania are in fact collected in Tanzania,... my guess alot are smuggled out of other african countrys (Zambia,Zimbabwe,Mozambique etc.) and beeing shipped to Europe or US trough larger city's like Dar es Salaam etc.

*edit* just a quick question,... ever seen any shipment from Cape-Verde in any US or UK stocklist ?,...

I agree with you Steven, more dealers are in Tanzania but I think they bring animals from the neighboring countries.
Here's my specimen, it comes from Kenya.

Hi Eric,

What are they like in terms of behaviour? Are they a burrowing species like morsitans? They look to have a very similar body structure to morsitans, a thick body and stumpy legs. Anyway, thats a vey nice pede you have

Hi,
Yes I think too they looks like morsitans, they burrow a lot also, but they are bigger.
