Is this a parasitic mite on my centipede, should I be worried?

Hello, I am new to this whole thing of forums and posting threads so forgive me. But I have had this scolependra dehaani for some time now and have not noticed any mites on them since. But tonight as I was spraying them and after I wanted to get a quick video because she is so damn cool. But in making the video I notice a white mite with a very long front pair of legs climb onto her from the substrate, at least from what it appears in the video, there is the chance it came out from under her head. But anyways I haven’t seen mites on her until today, I haven’t seen any in the soil until possible today. She has been eating and acting like a normal centipede. And it was just one mite, so I’m wondering if I am dreading myself with this overthinking for no reason or that I should genuinely be worried and start taking action soon. Thank you and apologies if this is long and messy.

Here is a picture I tried to get from the video, I circled the mite but you can’t see the long legs as my camera is not the best unfortunately. All those other round dots are water droplets

I might add as well to help you all get a better understanding of what the might looked like beside my shitty camera, think of the neocarus or opilioacarus species of mites. Which I feel I don’t usually see as parasites on centipedes or millipedes but I am no mite expert. And I didn’t realize I put two of the same photos..

Nope it's a grain mite, won't hurt your cent' although if there are lots of them they can irritate them just off shear numbers. They don't eat your cent' they eat the leftovers from your cent' . If you want rid of them use mushroom changing it every morning and night if it gets to crowded by the mites once there are non on your cent move it to a new viv and get rid of everything from the old viv. It can take a few weeks for them to totally leave but they will. Don't feed your critter while doing this if they are getting free food from your cent' they won't move. I wouldn't worry about 1 though add lots of springtails and it should keep the population down as the mites and springtails eat the same stuff, and as springtails are bigger they tend to out compeat the mites.
I will say I have only delt with t's with these mites so it may take longer for it to work or shorter idk but it's the best advice I can give with my experience.
If I missed anything just ask 😊 n gl to you both.

Thank you both! Your responses mean a lot and I will be sure to acquire some springtails shortly and continue to make sure these mites don’t start bothering my centipede! Again thank you!!

I thought the picture wasnt enough, but @Charliemum knows grain mites. Which means its not a bad thing and nothing to worry about.

note to self and all, send all mite pics to Charlie 🤪

unless its full hd extra detail pic. Then i can tell hahaha

Unfortunately my camera is not the best.. but it was white, and had abnormally long front legs. Is the only way I can describe it 😣😣

I quite often get tagged in mite stuff not because I am an expert of any kind but because I managed to save a psalmopoeus irminia, she came to me infested with mites and with a large split where her abdomen met her carapace. A few told me she wouldn't survive and to put her out of her misery, but if she was fighting so was I. 4 moults in n she's now a gorgeous adult female with no split or mites and living her best life.
I was also sent a sling 0.5cm Davis panama that came with so many mites you couldn't see her face. She (hopefully she) is now 1.5 inches with no mites, although hers did take longer to shift as I had to feed her twice while removing the mites which sets you bk to square 1 each time but we got there though. Ever since if there's mites I am tagged 😆
I am happy to help though 😊 I have learnt alot about the grain mites since then , I read anything I can on them. Really interesting part of a cleanup crew tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️ all sub has them it's just keeping them under control ....call in the springtails 😉😆
