Brown recluse spiders aren’t found in Canada. This is a running crab spider I believe.

What's it with this Brown Recluse phobia?? That doesn't look at all like a brown recluse. And they can't live in Canada - too cold.

Media hype and general word of mouth. Talk to anyone, even in BC where I live, and they have seen one themselves or knows someone who found one. Or knows someone who was bitten by one.

It's the wildest thing.

OP, I agree with NYAN, it's something in Philodromidae.

From SK, CA, I’ve never heard talk of brown recluse outside of this site. o_O

Honestly my girlfriend was the one who panicked so thanks for calming her down, lol. I tried to tell her a million times that 1) it wasn’t a recluse and 2) to leave it alone as it is harmless

She insisted though

True, but I'd love to be a multi-giga-uber duper billionaire with nothing to do in life except the burden of counting bucks, for release, in comfy temperatures Canadian house/apartments, an helluva of Loxosceles spp. while disguising myself as a Canadian electricity/etc inspector :)

Also I would, of course, buy an hangar full of helicopters for deliver, from the sky, vipers in Sardegna island (since aren't present) directly from soft jute sacks like Santa, ih ih

:troll:

Btw, Bezzina... are you Italian, by chance? :pompous:

WHAAAA? You’re in California and haven’t heard about the rampant brown recluse population? They are everywhere, make huge nests and can fly. They also bite sleeping uncles, friends and grandmas. Everyone always is telling me about how they know someone in that category who was bitten. The California brown recluse is a special subspecies which can camoflauge with its environment or change to another spider when an expert tries to find them or looks at them.

I do hope you know that I’m not from California.
