Is my c versicolor okay?

My tarabtula seems to be on his stomach/side fully stretched out. My c versicolor was in premolt so I’m thinking this position has something to do with that but I don’t think he’s actually molting. I’ve not seen him move he was perfectly fine a few hours ago does anyone know what going on? Maybe he’s getting ready to molt? I have several tarantulas and none of them have been in this position before that I’ve seen.

how wet is substrate? It looks dark and wet. Do you have holes in top of enclosure?

I see my versi’s in similar positions often, I’d say normal.

As @TheraMygale said, the sub is pretty wet. I’d switch it to dry after it molts, and add ventilation to the other side of the enclosure. Cross ventilation is essential for this species.

if the sub just looks wet then i suppose its not an issue.

i think we all agree, that a keeper adds more holes if they keep keeping the substrate moist.

otherwise, if its dry, it should be fine.

it is a big water bowl. So without holes in the top it adds up. I cant see if the op’s top enclosure has holes.

i saw a difference in my d pentaloris enclosure. I had sufficient holes for air flow. But the water bowl was big. I switched it up: no more unsightly fungi. Yes, fungi, not mold. Full fledged fruiting bodies. Thank you reptisoil.

There are holes in the top and it has cross ventilation the substrate wasn’t wet either it just looked like that

The substrate wasn’t wet it just looked like that and the enclosure has cross ventilation holes on the side that go all the way around and holes on the top. I spray his enclosure if the humidity is too low but I don’t soak the substrate it’s never wet

Substrate is as dry as the enclosure you see on the side of it idk why it looked dark in the pic but it’s not wet and yes the enclosure is cross ventilated

its ok. It was just a possibility. I believe you. Its hard to help with photos sometimes. I can only stipulate and ask questions. To help you.
