Here are pix of my only specimen (obtained: 8/13/05) that is now deceased (shown post-mortem) of completely unknown reasons. I was particularily saddened by this loss, like a child loosing his first cat to the near-by road. I have lost very few slings/sub-adults and none that seemed to be in as good of shape as this specimen. I must admit... I really had a "crush" on this one. It had just eaten ~3 day before (a CB B.fusca), showed ample energy, and parted without the infamous death-curl. But of course it comes with the territory.

The second photo is of Iridopelma sp. "Recife".

The I. hirsutum is one molt behind the I. sp. "Recife".

These things grow so fast. I keep mine on a very strict diet because I love it's juvie coloring and don't want to lose it to adulthood. Can't wait to breed it once it's big though.
