They are a large species, with adult females reaching 7-8". I consider them pretty easy to keep, as they are drought tolerant and very hardy. You should still keep slings reasonably moist, and you can let it dry out more as they grow.

Always use a water dish, cork bark/wood or something to hide and climb on is important for them as well. A pokie with no hide will be nervous and prone to bolting, making every day maintenance much more perilous.

They grow quite fast in the early stages, so feed them frequently and give them a decent amount of space, more so then your average terrestrial slings.

Keep in mind that they are quite venomous, and a bite from this species could send you to the hospital.

Thank you for your info. I am considering buying more Pokies, but thought I'd start with this species.

Yes you are right, I've found tones of great info on here. My Pokie is so small I can't tell if it is male or female. Going to sex it's first molt since being with me. Thanks for your insight!!

One thing I’ve noticed about pokies is they prefer a drop to much lower temps than other t’s. Mine would only come out at night and more so if it got colder.
