i have this old photo that should a habitat that could be used for many
desert type species of terrestrial animals. helmeted geckos or hairy scorpions.
this one is heated from above to allow for proper heat transfer to the cooler lower substrates and warmer surfaces. I personally don't like UTH.
anyway...
to that, a natural vivarium for forest or tropical scorpions would be sumwat the same as for picta geckos or leaf chameleon, no?
i think if you can grow plants and are able to maintain a forest vivarium then go for emps or such but if your not then try the desert idea, you can always grow from there.
thanks for the pics everyone so far ive got a lil pipe and a small pot for little hides... i havent got a scorp yet but im setting up the tank first and i have a question... should all the substrate be slightly wet at all times? because i saw the picture of Brian S's tanka and all of the substrate seems to be wet
I wouldn't recommend rocks in their cage at all. I always use light stuff in my setup since they're very active diggers, they will try and excavate a cavity under anything on the surface so flat bits of cork bark work well.
