I'm thinking about buying a scorpion

I currently just got a tarantula and i have an urge to buy another T or a scorp...my questions are:whats the difference in how you maintain each of them? and... If i do buy a scorpion which type should i look into for buying?

There are several different environments and conditions that you have to maintain depending on the species you choose, i'd go so far as to saying more different necessary setups than T's actually...

I look into getting a Hadrurus arizonensis or H. spadix - Desert Hairy Scorpion

and easy care

I think that scorpion and tarantula care is very simalar. But if you want a animal you want to handle much. I don't recommend you a scorpion. Scorpions is not the kind animal you handle if you don't have to. It just result in unnecessary stress for the animal.

The best scorpion to start with is Pandinus Imperator.

well my G rosea tarantula all it needs is a hide and a water dish... so basically im just wondering what do scorpions need to be comfortable how often to feed etc etc thanks for the help

Go for an Emp they will grow HUGE and Impressive and "most" are like kittens when it comes to cleaning.

Well Emps are usally good communal (So they go good together) sometimes at first when you put them together they may feel each other out, but nothing seriously. None have tried to eat each other, as long as their are enough hiding places, as you can see i have tons, and they are well feed they will be fine together. I can put some more in their and still be ok. I probably could have at least 10 in their no problem. Good luck, you will love the Emp's.

Here is a typical Emperor scorpion set up.The bottom is filled with about 2 inches of gravel with about 4-6 inches of peat/potting soil on top of that. You will notice a pvc pipe in the corner which is for pouring water down which in turn leaches thru the substrate giving the scorpion the humidity it needs. It obviously works as this scorp has been in there for nearly 3 years at the time of this writing. Also note that this will work for all Pandinus spp and the Heterometrus spp (Asian Forest Scorpion)

They thrive with mosit conditions and high humidity, i keep mind about 85-90. Humidity high 80-90%. However scorpions can adapt, but these conditions are ideal for the scorpion to feel like he is at home.
