Well I think she is a tiger from the pics posted here and others I've been looking at on the web. She sure is one nasty T though. I tried adding more substrate for her to dig in and she went nuts.
Mine also is very defensive. It takes nothing to trigger this one and once its going it doesnt calm down. Will also not just stand its ground but will actually attack if you dont back off. Thats why it became the first T I have named. Satan.
They had 2 when I purchased this one and the other one nailed 3 or 4 people at the pet shop. One guy opened the top to drop in a cricket and he said he no more than got the lid open and here it came out and bit him then ran back in the kk.
I can look in on it at night when its out and it will wave high and then when I move it willhit the side of the kk. All I know is its nuts and for sure will not be handled.

im not the best at id-ing T's but i still say that one is a H. Minax, this is one we have in the store...to support my thoughts on this. if u look the abdomen pattern and color is much the same, as well as the orange spinnerets, u cant see them in the picture i took but ive physically noticed them on the one we have as well as the ones on ur pics.

That's where your confusion begins. The spider pictured that's in your store is labelled erroneously. That is definitely 100% not an H. Minax.

Mine was labeled tiger rump when I bought it. I told the guy it wasnt a tiger rump but he said it was one of the other tiger rumps.
Thanks alot, I will take your word for it. So the common name vietnam tiger I have seen on these is correct. So now I have to relabel all my pics. At least I know what to put on them.
Thank you very much. :worship:

fair enough, thank you everyone for letting me know, as i said Preuss Pets is the type of pet store people go to when they want PROPER information. when i feel that something is questionable i will refer to others for help, and if i believe that im right but others inform me that im wrong i will openly listen to them and use that to better my knowledge. i will for sure bring this to the attention of the others in the store to make sure its corrected. do we have a scientific AND common name?

I think I am finally getting the idea on these and some other species. I found a site that actually explaines it in english with pictures for us ignorant folk. Most sites are over my head. I have been keeping T's for some time but just recently have taken an interest in the other side of T's. So I amtrying to get a grasp on the science part of the hobby.
So what I gather on this T is that short of sending in a shed to some one for id. Its really anyones guess and the only thing we know for sure is what it isnt. Like the common red tail boa. There are so many color forms that its almost impossible to determine where they origin.
Still alot of reading to do but I think I am getting a grasp. And I thought when I was keeping snakes things could get confused. Trying to figure out these guys for the novice is a bit over whelming.
