Found this girl in my basement, she's the size of a large Steatoda or small widow. Extremely active, was in quite a large tangle web with a lot of victims...

I'm in Niagara, Ontario. To me she appears to be a Steatoda sp. ...but I have yet to see one this lightly coloured.

abdominal patteringi s off for a widow, however body size and shape does point to the theridae (spelling) family or I believe they are named comb footed spiders/cobweb weavers

Parasteatoda tepidariorum has darker brown markings, like you said, 'have yet to see one this lightly coloured'.

I think you'd be able to see the hourglass marking on the ventral side if it was a widow.

It probably is in the cobweb/ comb footed spider family, though.

she's deffinitely not a widow, there's no hourglass marking underneath, and her legs are too skinny...I've kept many kinds of widows including geos...she's not a widow.

doesn't really look like a latro or steatoda. quite possibly parasteatoda.
