I just got done trying to find some information on what this means. I have a good idea but would really like to know for sure. What does ICU mean?

It stands for intensive care unit. Basically the concept is to put a sick T in a small enclosure (as in deli cup) with a damp paper towel (or whatever) and put that somewhere warm, quiet, and dark. The T can benefit from the warmth and humidity.

also,
If it happens to be an unfortunate parasite-involving case, there is also the dry ICU. Sterile deli cup and a dry sterile environment.

Here's Robc's wife's tutorial on how to make one.

No one has ever proven why they work, but they apparently do. It has been hypothesized that the warm, dark, damp surroundings help to sooth the spider enough that it stops wasting energy on stress and uses it on maintenance and repair instead.

Or, that the raised humidity helps to relieve the physiological stress of trying to function against a tendency to lose water. This is supported by the fact that ICUs seem to work best for tarantulas that are already in the "death curl" stage because of dehydration.

Lastly, maybe they just get off on the smell of stale cottage cheese. :D
