ICU questions

I've repeatedly read here on AB that ICU is not good for desert species, or Avics.
So when is an ICU appropriate to use and for what species? Thanks:)

Hard to say. I doubt they make much difference. But I think they help when you have really dehydrated tropical species, maybe with bad moult too.

Ive never used ICU,hopefully it stays that way.but as far as my research goes,it only helps with alarmingly dehydrated Ts, nothing else. MAYBE on bad molts too,but only a particular event where parts of the old exuv is stuck in the on the new skin,the dampness of the tissue paper COULD help in removing the old skin completely.

+1 to what the others said. IMO a full water dish and close monitoring of the sp. in question would be my cure-all until I had good enough reason to try something else
