I thought using a feed tank was supposed to REDUCE aggression!

Snakes tend to be opportunistic predators. Because in the wild a snake may have no choice but to go long periods without food (due to lack of prey, unsuccessful strikes, etc), when they do find food they will 'pig out' if prey is readily available. For example, if a snake should come upon a mouse nest filled with a bunch of babies, it will chow down on all of them if it can. This behavior is hardwired into the animal. So even though your snake may be looking for yet another mouse, and will happily take another if present, it does not mean that he needs another. Not unlike my "not needing" another brownie or slice of pizza but yet being all too willing to do so if they're left sitting in front of me.
