So not thinking about it I had got a few grasshoppers to feed some of my Tarantulas In my collection not enough to feed all but this being my 1st Heteroscodra maculata I didn't realize it was getting ready to molt and wasn't going to eat the grasshopper seeing as it was a pretty large grasshopper I didn't want to leave it in the enclosure for fear the T wouldn't eat it a go into molt while the prey item was in there leaving the T defenseless against the grasshopper not thinking I took the grasshopper out & threw it in with my other T which is a totally different species from a totally different continent and didn't realize that the maculata had already bitten the grasshopper I didn't notice it slowly dying until it staggered over in my Mysore /Polkies enclosure & got snatched up & eaten but in short could a prey item bitten by a medically significant T be eaten by a different medically significant T with mo ill affects ive not seen no sign of my T be affected by it as of yet its not happened before in the yrs ive been keeping Ts this was a 1 st any thoughts or experiences like this i want to hear 👂🏽

Venom doesn't have the same effects when it's ingested as it does when it's injected.

It's like a word search with errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation

I had to read it 3 times

"Does ingesting prey that has already been envenomated by one tarantula affect another tarantula? Species are both medically significant."

That was a long sentence!
Interesting topic, but I agree with those who said your T should be ok.

I have had it happen with no bad outcomes, but mine are all new worlds and I do try to avoid letting it happen.

Could you re write some of this as a question 🙋??
And I’ve never had a similar situation occur but the venom won’t hurt the pokie as it wasn’t bitten . The locust just gets a double dose of ouch! 🤕

It should be fine as said before injestion is very different than in envenomation. Ive seen this question surface over time and never seen anything go wrong because of it. It should be just fine!
