Oh yea I saw a Mexican red knee squeeze through a tiny gap between 2 glass panels
If you're talking about a video, that's probably the one I'm thinking of. Little Houdinis, these animals. ;)

Congrats on your new Ts, fingers crossed things go better this time around. I can say from experience that you chose a bunch of fantastic species. Sad what happened to your sling, but it was an important lesson learned as unfortunate as the cost.

You make me laugh.

@LostInExotics In regards to putting ventilation holes in enclosures for small slings, I just use a thumbtack to avoid making the holes too big - As 8LeggedLair said, as long as the holes aren't larger than the carapace you're golden. Specifically the carapace and not the abdomen, as the abdomen is malleable and squishy. Even the fattest T can squeeze through a gap if the carapace can fit through. There are video examples of even adult Ts doing this.
I’m glad I make you laugh

@LostInExotics you will really enjoy your C.Cyaneopubescens they’re little tanks
Hardy and as long as the substrate is dry have access to water dish/cap and they have anchor points they’ll be happy. Mine is a little pig lol
She is in pre molt and still not wanting to stop eating... hopefully she refuses today and starts to fast, cause I’m anxious for her to molt.

Thank you! I'm excited for my new T's especially the webbers. Good thing I learned it this early in the hobby rather than down the line and having an OBT escape :anxious::anxious:

I'm very excited for the C. cyaneopubescens! I'll be receiving slings so I'm excited to grow with them.

Just wanted to pitch in my 2 cents. I use those enclosures. Dollarama.

They generally work really well (especially the tall ones), you can use pins to make very small holes if preferred, but I have noticed in the last couple of batches that the lids aren't closing flush tight. So make sure they are turning fully closed as well or you could have an escapee that way, too.

I'm not planning on getting OW species until I'm comfortable and experienced. Maybe a year from now I will start thinking about it. I was just saying that good thing I learned from this mistake while having NW species rather than having OW species a year from now.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I'm gonna triple check from now on.

I use the same containers once my slings get about 1/2” or bigger. I use a tiny drill bit instead of a soldering iron. I think the holes you made are just much too large to use with a sling. I’d start over and use smaller holes or of the slings are still very small just use viles instead until they molt a couple times and put on some size.

Haha, most definitely better to learn with Ts that aren't going to make you want to abandon your house if they go missing.

Heavy webbers are a LOT of fun. The N. incei is sorely underrated and does more webbing than my GBB.
