Pectinal tooth count is harder to judge for AFS, if I am not mistaken. Your best bet is to get a quality closeup shot of the chela for determining gender and carapace for ID.

Male, no need for pectin counts for Heterometrus, the shape of the operculum is much easier to judge.

Top is a molt from a male Silenus, bottom is female Spinifer (different species obviously but the shape is very similar). Females have two little lobes at the bottom, males are more triangular.

Shape of the genital operculum is way easier in determining the sex. For ID I'd like to see the whole body including chelae and telson, not only the carapace.
