As the title says, i am looking to add something to the collection, doesn’t have to be Tarantula or even Invert related. Throw me some Ideas....

If I can’t come up with anything I may start a planted ecosystem fully enclosed kinda like a dart frog setup and let it grow.

I have that same issue, but have held back with several tanks and enclosures. Trying to be good! Interested to see what others have to say.

what about a planted freshwater aquascape tank with shrimp in it and maybe a few small tetras or something?

A five gallon is pretty small for most fish.

Have you considered assassin bugs/an active roach species?

Thanks,

You want some? I have sooo many.

They will climb the silicone bead in the corners of a glass tank. Nymphs might squeeze under lids.
this tank seals pretty tight around the lid and maybe some vasoline around the corners?

yeah I have been thinking about a hisser setup too.
Hissers didn’t even come to mind when I said roaches...there are so many more species than just the stereotypical G. portentosa morph that look so much better to my mind.

Thanks,

To be honest I have never looked at other roach species, other than hissers, dubia and red runners.

did you have any collector species in mind? I may do some research.

Most people don’t, ha ha.

Instead of telling you directly, why don’t you explore the library of species contained on Roach Crossing’s or Bugs In Cyberspace’s website (or on the Invertebrate Dude/All About Arthropods blogs); that’ll help you get some ideas and you can research the ones you like further. If that turns up nothing I have a “few” species that I personally enjoy.

Thanks,
