Can't explain it

I don't know what what it is, the hide 90 percent of the time and their hairs make me itch.
But when they strike it makes the wait worth it. It took my t 30 minutes to get in position and 4 beers but I watched it all. A true sniper

If you change your mind let me know. Being sick is no excuse! jk I probably wouldn't have figured it out either.

Funny. People are having the opposite problem I'm having. What is this word "limit" I keep hearing? It doesn't compute!! :wall::?

I have a solution for your problem...get a girlfriend or let a family member live with you you'll know will set a ...shiver.....limit!! {D
Well when Mackenzie and I moved in together, he was going to stop at 5 but then me and my addictive personality stepped in. And we live with my parents and my mom actually gets up early on the days we're expecting shipments to come in, because they usually come in around 8am and she wants to be sure someone is up to get the package. Then she hangs around while we unpack them. It's weird because she has no problem when they're slings or when they're subadults, but when they're about 2"-3" (especially OW arboreals), they really freak her out. Luckily those grow quickly. I think because at that point they just seem like huge house spiders (with colour).

We went from 5 T's in April '09 to 78 by the beginning of December.

And I have a feeling we'll probably hit 200 by next winter. Luckily we don't trust our post office enough to have anything shipped during the winter, so our bank accounts can take a break. That's the good thing about there being two of us - split payments! That way we can get more....muahahahah.

I love my T's... but have finally slowed down on buying them. My solution? BUYING SNAKES!!! lol ... Just before christmas I bought my first cornsnake. Then a few days later I bought another one. Then boxing day I bought a Boa constrictor. Now I want more snakes lol. I still love my T's but am getting into snakes now too lol. On my list is a Hoggie or 2, another Boa constrictor (BCI), and whatever else tickles my fancy that I can afford lol.

I decided a few months ago to get rid of all my T's and just keep true spiders, scorps and snakes.
I don't know how but I now have more T's than I did when I made that decision
I should be getting rid of them but end up buying more.....what's going on ?

Oh yes, snakes are an extremely slippery slope. We've actually started breeding our own mice because the place we used to buy them from has since closed down and so it was breed our own mice or sell our snakes. As hard as it is for me to willingly kill mice, I love my snakes way too much to sell them. Unfortunately, due to space we can't get anymore snakes or lizards, but when we get our own place, well that's going to change. First two on my list are a blood python and a bull snake. Mmmmmm snakes

I'm sliding down the snake slope too ;) I have always had snakes of some kind or another, and then got out of them for a few years. Now back to them and can't stop, was only going to get one BP to start and got 2 within a week. I have no space for more until I get a rack for them though :(

Ahh reminds me of the time I went on a spending spree in the not-so-distant past... ya know, that time I went from 20 or so Ts to 40 or so Ts in less than a month? Yeah, THAT time... :D
Yeah, you got to binge and purge. Get alot really quick and then chill for a few months. LoL. 2009 brought 25+ T's, hoping this year will be better.

I started at 1 but within 2 weeks I was up to 10... It would be 13 but 3 c. elegans slings died by mistake by being sent to my billing address instead of shipping (as you can imagine my mother was very surprised when 3 tarantulas showed up on her doorstep hahahaha). But as everyone else has already stated: if you are trying to find someone who will stop you from getting more, this forum is absolutely the last place you want to be! The only cure for for having a million tarantulas is having a million and one (and maybe a few more).

Aww, cute lil guys!

8by8... yup, that seems to be the trend! I get a whole bunch at once, and am happy with them for awhile... and then one day, you're feeding Ts and you have a lot of left over food and you think... "Instead of buying less food... I should buy MORE Ts!" {D

In 2009, I went from 1 T to over 40 Ts... 2010 should be fun :D

Tom.. I followed the story of your C. elegans on the other forum, I'm sorry they didn't make it :(

Thanks. I've definitely learned my lesson though. Won't be making the same mistake again. I'm still mad at myself though, they would've been a great little addition to the "zoo".
