We all make errors and not all of us are after guaranteed sells xhedrx...so that being said in the future try not to group us all together as such:embarrassed:
Spell my id right next time.

And I'll rephrase then.

Any of them who are after guaranteed sells will tell you it's female, unless you specifically say you're looking for a male.

The ones who care and are honest will be honest with you. The trick is knowing the difference.

Go to "Leopard Geckos R Us" and buy a tarantula from them, I bet my paycheck they don't know jack about spiders.

And for the record, even people who know their stuff still try to screw you over. I know someone whose name I won't mention because they are a member here on the boards who sent a number of 'guaranteed females' to a friend of mine, and 90% of them were male.

Sure xhexdx satisfied there now that I spelled your handle right this time ?
lets answer your statements
No ...Not everybody after 'guaranteed' sales will tell you it's a female...there are a few honest out there
Yes your right the ones who care are on your side in a sale.
Well somebody named leopard geckos I personally would not buy a sexed tarantula unless I examine it first
Your boast on some people who know their stuff trying to screw you over is rather presumptious [spelling]
The member who sold your 'friend' these guaranteed females sounds like a lotta third hand info to me....if that is the fact why did he not post a review....
What I am saying don't lump us all together

No, you still misspelled it. Seriously, it's right
<-------------- there.

But here, I'll spell it out so you can copy and paste next time.

xhexdx

Why would you put 'friend' in quotes? You think I'm referring to myself but I don't want to say it so I made something up? It wasn't MY screw-up, so why would I pretend they were sold to a friend if they were really sold to me?

I'm trying not to me mean by naming the guy who sold my FRIEND the spiders, even though I don't like the guy. If you really really want to know the dirty, PM me and I'll have my FRIEND PM you as well if you like.

And how is it a boast?

Presumptuous.

And I bet even you get ventral sexing wrong sometimes, so don't give us that 'holier than thou' crap.

And the honest guys aren't after guaranteed sales. They share information and knowledge and if they sell something in the process, hey, that's great.

Enjoy your Saturday.

xhexdx sorry man must have been some latent dislexia kicking in......heh

No holier than thou crap here bud...if I am wrong ...I fix it. So far to date I have not been yet...yeah I know 'knock on wood'
Ventral is not 100% with me, a shed is 100% ...hence my sexing guarantee.
I quoted friend for this reason....if he was so screwed why not warn others of that happenstance...I would ...wouldn't you ? It's not about being mean as you stated...it's about what is right...and yes my saturday is wonderful...my children and I have cleaned out our garage and had a blast doing it...I hope yours is a fine one also:)

I have talked to John Morris. He Says "he will replace the spider in question"
Not a problem. He has been working and has not seen this thread yet.
It was just an honest mistake. He will be at the Reptile show next weekend.

John is sorry for the mix up Ritzman. He has asked me to post this for him.

I am sorry if a mistake was made and will gladly replace it. I will also throw in a freebie for the inconvenience. I have a lot of people behind my table as well as customers that remove and replace lids. I'm sure that with something that I have in large numbers such as roseas, that 2 lids could have been mixed up. Not to mention that mistakes can happen. I use the word "guaranteed" in case it doesn't turn out right then I guarantee to correct it. I'm glad that the purchaser realizes that this was an honest mix up. I would implore that if this ever happens with anyone else that buyers would contact the seller first so that he can at least have a chance to correct the problem before it is turned over to the court of public opinion so that people can speculate over the big "Rosea Sexing Scandal".

As for the people that want to imply that I would purposely sell a male rosehair as a female just to make a sale - that is a little bit far fetched. I literally charge $5 more for males than females. I have at least 4 or 5 of both genders at every show at any given time, and I usually leave with 1 or 2 of both. What good would it do me to engage in subterfuge involving $5?

John Apple - Thanks for the vote of support and offering to fix this situation for me, but I stand behind my animals and have no problem replacing it myself. My apologies again to the purchaser.

Wow, look at that awesome Michigan solidarity!!!
I'm glad to see that this all got sorted out and it goes to show that it is easy to assume the worst.
John Morris is a really solid guy and has the support of any that he has done business with, myself included.
But had it been someone less well known, we would still be kicking his burnt effigy.
There are a lot of bad apples (heh, no offense, John) out there, even some here in Michigan, but I am proud to share this state with such good examples of arachno-retailers as both of the Johns and Bryan.

Sorry, I just found that last part rather {D

Seriously though, I've had some really good dealings here (online with people who post here) and at local shows. You can usually tell (esp. at shows) the people who know what they are talking about and are being honest with you and the ones that are not. If you go up to someone's table and he/she is selling nothing but inverts, they all look to be in good condition and that is all or mostly what the person is selling, a small conversation later you should be able to tell the good ones from the bad ones.

I recall some years ago at a somewhat local show (repeating one) where there were some who were NOT so good...

Me--->Hmmm....so, what exactly is this? (and I knew it was an African Orange/Red TD Spider)

Him---->I don't know....$5.00

AND these were the same exact ones he had with him the show that was earlier in the month...and not looking as good so it was obvious he wasn't caring for them and more of a "distributor" than anything else.

And another guy who frequented those shows (BEFORE they cleaned them up a bit) tossed some Pandinus imperator into a shallow pan of water and tried to pass them off as "water scorpions" when they were not moving. Think he was finally "nailed" when he sold some woman a small boa, telling her it only ate milk.

But that was some time ago, but still sometimes they do show up at the meets. You just have to talk to someone for a short time to be able to tell if they are honest or not.

Well, the friend of mine is also 'friends' (and that time I use the term loosely) with the guy he bought them from. We are all here in Florida, so it was resolved through phone conversation, no need for it to be on the boards.

And my Saturday wasn't bad either. Rearranging and painting the animal room. It's looking pretty good. My son is only 5 months old so he wasn't much help. :}

There were containers marked with MM and MF and I know I clearly grabbed MF container. I had a MM in my hand and he said that it was a male and wouldn't live as long, and he pointed me to a MF, which had a higher price tag ,being that it was a female
John, That's what I figured. A mistake. I didn't mean to imply that the seller was trying to rip me off if thats how it came across. Didn't mean for this thread to turn into a whole "Rosea Sexing Scandal"{D . I knew from talking with you that you had a deep interest in Ts . I even talked to you some short time ago at the stand in Gibaltor(sp) trade center. I was the guy that bought the GBB sling and gotta a LP sling from Chris, and wanted to talk Ts but my GF wanted to go.

John, I couldn't thank you enough for swapping the T out, and throwing in a freebie. My GF seen that and said,"another spider", and hit me.{D
Me: hun, what did you think we were going to the show in the first place?{D

On a side note: Every time I go to that show, everyone selling pac-mans(all 2 maybe 3), has no idea what I am talking about when I ask for ornates instead of a cranwelli:wall:
