So I had to bite my tongue so hard tonight at the grocery store- a lady in line behind us mentioned she had a spider. I asked her what kind she had. She told me a pink toe and she had it for a year but has not held it at all and when I asked her why she responded with "because it's still venemous" I paused for a moment and asked her what exactly she meant by "still venemous" in which she responded with she was waiting on the spider to no longer be venemous. I had to explain to this completely ignorant woman that tarantulas are ALWAYS venemous. They contain venom and will never NOT have venom. So she said that she was told that if she was allergic to bees that she would then have a bad reaction to spider venom. So I had to politely explain that is not how tarantula venom works. I explained the first and foremost tarantulas very rarely will maliciously bite a human. Then I also explained how tarantula venom is not harmful and deadly to humans. Their venom is designed to liquify the insides of their prey. Then she ended it with how she knew nothing about said spider and she took it in bc it was only $10. The only thing I said afterwards was "you may wanna do some research on that spider. And explained that regardless spiders are meant to be display pets anyway"
