You want a hide on each side (warm and cool) of the tank. Temperature in the cool hide should be about 80 degrees F., and the temperature in the warm hide about 90 F. Anything under 75F is asking for trouble. If you can achieve this with just the UTH, terrific. You definitely want a thermostat to go with any under tank heat, and place a temperature probe inside the warm hide, which will be directly over the UTH. If you need to supplement the heat with a ceramic heater or infrared lamp, go to the hardware store and get a sliding dimmer switch, and run the lamp through that. Then you can slide the dimmer to get the ideal temperatures.

It's complicated because I don't want him sick again. It's also complicated because this is my first herp that needs humidity, and I have no experience with it before this.
