What do baby spiders eat? Springtails or Fruitflies?

Keep Us Updated!
They won't eat anything at this point, but when they do start eating they can take pinhead to week old crickets.

Thank you. I figure I'll keep a few and sell the rest. All of the other scenarios that I came up with involving them and world domination seemed like too much work. {D

Start fattening her up, she needs a little extra food to produce also maybe give an extra mist as that seem to get them in the sac makin mood :) Good luck

Thanks, James. You just pick the right time to look at the boards. :) I wouldn't worry about your female A. avicularia. The time between mating and eggsac production can vary quite a bit. As long as she doesn't molt there's always a chance.

That last pic...the close up...superb!
Thank you.

Update:

Most of them have completed their second molt. In this pic you can see that they have constructed a large web that most of them molted on. After molting, the majority of them have huddled together under the web leaving all of the exuvia on top.

Hi Kyle,
NICE!!!! Awesome shots mate. Can I use some of those pics for some things??? ;) (I'll put your copyright on them). That's the one you got from Jason, (from me), isn't it?? Because it sure looks like it ;) They are amazing, heh...

Hey, do you have video on your digi??? Even better someone who could operate it while you work magic with teaspoons and cards ??? ;) These are such a good species to get things going with too, the males are really good at handling the females, no matter how large they are. I've had one get chomped, but that's out of a heap of successful attempts over numerous occassions with a multitude of different spiders. How large is the enclosure the female/s are in?? Because if they aren't large enough I have a pretty good container here for breeding I could mail down to you, it's plastic, so it wouldn't cost much to get to you. It's just large enough so that the male would have room to get away and you can round him up.

Oh, yeah, got pics of your female?? They're nice too :)

Steve

Thats the one mate and you are more than welcome to use the pictures for whatever you like dude.
And yep i do have someone to video the whole show i will video it on me digi for sure
:)
I really think he's keen to mate right now cause he keeps walking around palps in the air moving them in little popping kind of motions.
The female of the same sp is in a tank right above him and
Heres a pic of the fem

She is on the move in her tank to i think shes ready aswell. Its ok to give breeding a go at this time of the year hey. He has a sperm web in his tunnel.
Oh and in answer to your question yes the fems tank is massive its at least 3 foot long and maybe 2 foot wide thats big enough yeah?

Thanks heaps!

In that case his palps are charged (he has built a sperm web) and he's ready as they come ;)

Perfect time of the year for it!! Because we are so close to where these spiders are found, our seasons fit perfectly with theirs (as opposed to a spider that has been shipped half way round the world ;)) and when they mature, the best we can do is follow their lead and let them work their magic :) In fact, the sooner the breeding commences, the better, the male will be stronger.

Sweet! Perfect for it :)
