iv been feeding it one 1/4 inch cricket once a week, just wondering if that enough for it to be happy.

Thanks.

I've kept cellar spiders in the past and that's about what I fed them. I tend to use my judgement...if they're looking especially plump, I might wait another day or two, and sometimes I might offer food sooner.

What does a "plump" cellar spider look like?

My Cellar Spider prefers dead bugs to live ones...she also won't eat bugs with shells - she tries but then throws them out of her web. What should I feed her during the winter, since I can't get flies or moths?

Small crickets work well. If she won't take live prey you can prekill it before feeding.

Thank you, YagerManJennsen! Sorry to ask another stupid question, but I've never had a spider before - where do I get small crickets or meal worms?

I get mine at local petstores. (pet supplies plus to be exact.) And there is no such thing as a stupid question feel free to ask to your hearts content.
