I have a B.smithi sling who has been on "lock down" in its hide for going on 3 weeks, I'm assuming to molt.( she is probably about 4 months old 1/2") is there any point that I become worried???
Right, the smaller the spider, the faster the molt is. The question is how long are they sealed in before and after, and that can be days, weeks, or months depending on the species. They do it for a reason, whether it's due to the climate or predators they're used to.I had a P.irminia molted yesterday and the process itself went quickly, I would say 20 mins at the most.
thanks. I keep telling myself that all I can do is my Best and my Best is....patienceI have a little G. pulchripes sling that buries itself for a month or two at a time when it sheds. If there's a problem in there, there's nothing you can do about it. Relax. Somehow in nature they manage to do this without humans pacing back and forth and wringing their hands![]()
Gotta love slings! One of my females took a month holed up before she eventually moltedI had a P.irminia molted yesterday and the process itself went quickly, I would say 20 mins at the most.
