How long, on average, does a molt take for a sling??

I have a B.smithi sling who has been on "lock down" in its hide for going on 3 weeks, I'm assuming to molt.( she is probably about 4 months old 1/2") is there any point that I become worried???

brachy are know for taking forever with everuthing they do so be patcient seem fine. if it goes longer than a month and a half then maybe start to worry, but three weeks doesn't seem out of the ordinary. I have had smaller one take that long

I have a little G. pulchripes sling that buries itself for a month or two at a time when it sheds. If there's a problem in there, there's nothing you can do about it. Relax. Somehow in nature they manage to do this without humans pacing back and forth and wringing their hands ;)

I had a P.irminia molted yesterday and the process itself went quickly, I would say 20 mins at the most.

Right, the smaller the spider, the faster the molt is. The question is how long are they sealed in before and after, and that can be days, weeks, or months depending on the species. They do it for a reason, whether it's due to the climate or predators they're used to.

But we can't really pinpoint that. It's hard to say every t is different. Just because my smithi stays on there for 3 months doesn't mean yours will. I don't have a smithi and it's all speculation. But there is no set time, there is probably an average though and I can't tell you that because I don't know.

It might just be comfy in the hide, too. Just about all of my terrestrial Ts are sealed in their hides like 90% of the time.

My B,smithi sling just molted on Thursday, it took around 5 hours, so it's difficult to tell for each T, i guess it's down to how fast it wants out lol.

Gotta love slings! One of my females took a month holed up before she eventually molted ;) She's now a stunning 5" lightning of fury and hate :D
