How gravid is she? Photos!

This here is my new said gravid Asian forest scorpion from Bioquip under black light. I am just very curious as to when I may possibly see babies?!

I would suggest you not to use UV lights. It hurts the scorpion and we cant see clearly. Please use normal lighting.

I am keeping her in the dark because I don't want to stress her with the other bright lights in my room. I literally only took the photos and left her alone under a dark cloth. I am not going to dig her out of her hide to take more photos.

UV lights can cause lot more stress than normal lights.

I was under the impression insects and lizards could not see red lights. I used an app to make my OLED phone screen a nice red and observed my new B. Albiceps last night after dark. She was walking around, exploring corners and didn't seem to take any notice. Try a red LED light.

Sure UV looks cool on scorps but I read it is not good for them.

Ok so I won't use uv (might try red uv) on them anymore but can someone please tell me how soon I might be expecting babies?

Heterometrus spp can have a gestation period of between 9 and 15 months depending on conditions......although are you sure she is adult. I'm no Heterometrus expert whatsoever but that metasoma looks a little thin for an adult....her (if it is a her) size could be down to pre-moult and not gravidity.
If it is a she and she is gravid then knowing the insemination/mating date would be helpful...without that no one can give you an answer any better than "probably less than 9 months"..........

Still think that metasoma looks to ineffectual for an adult AFS though....

Or before she dies ? But I also get confused between gravid,fat or premolt!
