How early can you sex Pokies?

I know for other species you wait until the T is mature, but what about pokies? Is is true that long legs are generally a male attribute? And how soon can you tell?

This is my first pokie and I'm nervous

Most people will argue with you but most pokies, IMO can be sexed within the 1.5"-2" range.

Some say they are easier to sex as slings, and I think this has to do with the "dot" being more visible when they are smaller, but since I'm not a firm believer in the "dot" I would rather judge by the dorsal pattern over the "dot". IMO you can start judging them by the dorsal pattern when they are around 3"-4".
Of coarse sexing the molt is the best option, the smallest pokie molt I had success with was around 2.5"

Mature males of most species are considered 'leggy', but if you know what to look for, you'd know it's male long before it matures.

For me, it's pretty easy to sex pokie males at about 1" ventrally. The 'dot' is pretty obvious.

As stated above, 1.5-2" is a good size to be able to get some definitive results.
