As of late, my boyfriend and I have run into a little problem. We have two pairs of T's we are trying to mate, but in both cases, the males are unwilling. Both of these males have been witnessed making sperm webs. We have mated plenty of other T's, and had nothing but success. We have never tried to mate the spiecies we are trying now, and I am just hoping for some advice.
The first pair is Iridopelma hirsutum. The first time we put the male in with the female there was some tapping but nothing happened. Since the first attempt we have tried maybe 4 -5 times, and now we are getting nothing; not even tapping.
The second pair is Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens. Our female taps like crazy, which seems to scare away the male. He doesn't tap; he just seems afraid.
Can anyone suggest anything?
