How do males get eaten if the female is paralyzed when mating?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, I was just starting to look into the mating process and learned that once the male delivers the sperm sac, the female is paralyzed for a little while and the male could get away. I've seen videos of matings gone wrong where the male still gets eaten after a (seemingly?) successful pairing. Are there cases where the females don't get paralyzed, or in those videos did the mating not actually happen?

What do you mean with "get paralyzed" ?
I have never seen nor read that. Do you have a source ?

You might be misinformed. I don't believe they are paralyzed. Sometimes they freeze for a bit but they are not paralyze, they simply decide not to move

They aren’t paralyzed. I’ve seen females bend over and grab the male as soon as insertion is complete and I’m sure it can even happen during insertion. This usually happens when the female is much larger and can over power the male easily. The males (well, most) do have hooks on their legs that hook onto the females chelicerae which helps him hold her up and keep her fangs away while he’s inserting. But that isn’t always enough with a big size difference and the male still has to get away after disengaging her fangs.

Ive never seen or read of a female spider becoming paralyzed while mating. There is a species of true spider where the male actually dies while inserting, that’s pretty fascinating. Not due to the female at all.

Maybe some females might go on a trance once a male inserts. But this doesn't mean all females will go into a trance as some females will instantly turn hostile and literally try to eat a male after insertion, etc. Not all females are the same and not all species will be the same (although some may be similar) as well in terms of mating. So anyone and everyone should be prepared for the worst when witnessing a pairing. Any kind of tarantula pairing should expect and brace-up for the worst possibility of the mating partner being eaten.
