How can I attract/trap praying mantids?

i am thinking of getting some praying mantids soon. I cant find the ootheca in any pet stores or gardening stores. how can i attract them to my garden or trap them?( I live in the tropics.)

they also congregate heavily around bright lights. i've had good luck in some places that way. the moths and the big bugs fly around the lights, so naturally there will be predators there waiting for them.
