House Lizard for Tarantula?

My Brachypelma boehmei, 1.5" in size consume a 2.5" lizard, i pre killed the lizard and put in the container of my Brachypelma boehmei, when i got back he start consuming it, after two days he ate it all, what an appetite!:?

before i gave the lizard he consumed 1.5" roach..

is this a normal appetite? coz i didnt expect he could consume the whole lizard, ahehe.. :? right now his tummy is huge, but still he could move fast..

Although it is very possible to eat that much, if the abdomen is pretty fat, I wouldn't feed it for a bit. Then slowly come on with crickets after a week or two. A overly large abdomen doesn't do the spider any good, it makes it easier to split open and the like.

Oh, and in the future make sure it's not a wild caught lizard, or you are taking your chances. It could have injested some pesticides or other chemicals that could be hazardous to your tarantula, or it could contain parasites. I'd also give it maybe two weeks off from food after a meal like that.

yeah i wont feed him for several days..

another question..

he molted twice, end of the month of jan and feb, is he molting again this month?

The molt frequency tends to be dependant on how much you feed it (Becca81 did a project with her class showing this). The more you feed it (powerfeeding) the shorter the time between molts, the shorter the ts lifespan.
