Martin-

I agree 100%. I'm no big fan of high-priced inverts but if he <edit> tags it for $750 and someone wants it bad enough to buy it then, more power to both parties!

I think we all have the right to complain here without you telling us not to do that~!
I'm just trying to save you the trouble. Do a search for "whining" and you'll find a thread just like this one.

Well, first thing that comes to my mind when I see that price is to be suspicious to all other prices. I would think that all other species could be found cheaper and that is what we are all looking for, right? So, no one here would pay 750$ for that scorpion, a few of you would even pay 50$ but you say that selling at that price is ok. If some fool comes and buys it then its his fault! Well, I don't agree...I think that when you are selling a common scorpion (and I am not saying this is that case) for a high price to a person that doesn't know it is common (and you know that person doesn't know that) you are not morally correct. In this case this scorpion is called the "
holy grail"! Why it would be called that way if not to make its price higher!? BTW, no one agreed here that is the holy grail of scorpions...just some thoughts...

Funny thing about the term "holy grail"... <edit> uses that to describe the Tityus sp. he's selling & breeding
.
If I had to pick one, I'd go with the Tityus rather than the Het, but to be absolutely honest, I want a couple of those Apistobuthus pterygocerus... Now THAT'S a Grail...

fscorpion-

My friend, just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so to is that "Holy Grail" of scorpions. Personally, I'd never pay USD 750 for a scorp, even if it is one of the largest in the world. However, that's me and the next person could easily consider USD 750 a small price to pay to own such a wondrous animal.
And, this should not be an insult to any working man or woman. We work to better ourselves and our situations so that we, too, may one day afford such things. It's the desire to achieve better that motivates us and inspires us to drag our tired and weary asses from the rack each morning at 3:30 am, all the way to the time clock at 6:00 pm - 6-7 days a week!
In the beginning, the Gods made life short and our desires plentiful so, between bills and car payments; clothes for the kids and a welcome night on the town with the wife or that special other, if you can splurge a bit on yourself in this life then by all means, do so! LOL

Martin-

Fortunately, I've not yet had to experience such a "joy" and hope I never have to as I've heard that ex's are a very expensive "joy"!

About a year or 2 ago, I saw some Apistobuthus pterygocerus for sale from a couple of dealers. But NEVER a swammerdammi. As is human nature, I just want what I can't have.

Listen, 750$ is too much for any scorpion to my opinion, it's an insult to people who work...you could pay a plane ticked and go collect it yourself for that money.
Now, don't go telling me that there are poor countries, I come from one, and I know how it is to be living in poverty. Obviously, people who do not work don't earn money too! There are many unemployed people in the USA too... But thinking that there are places where you earn 20$ a month is an insult to me. I don't know any country where they earn that equivalent of money of any currency, and especially not in Lithuania where this guy is from...
Did you even read my post? What the hell are you on about? :embarrassed:

I was saying that 750 USD is WAY TOO MUCH for any scorp, and that alot of poverty exists in the world, after somebody mentioned in so many words, "wow 350USD a month, that's bad". There are many people much worse off. Fact.

So what part do you not agree with? :?

READ IT AGAIN.

well in the next 5 or so years you might have some available in the US, between two of us here on AB, i know of 4 gravid females, so if all goes well, there should be LOTS of little swamm babies around!

its 2 years or so for them to gain adulthood i think, so that might slow things down a bit!

viva la Swam!
