Hello:

I am currently considering purchasing a sling of this species and I have done some searching on this board and others for information. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be a lot out there. I generally have an idea how to care for it (slightly damp substrate, lots of anchor points, and hide). I also know that it is fast and skittish, but that is not much of a problem for me. I was hoping to find other keepers' experience with the species. Is it a species that is basically a pet hole? Or is it out a fair amount? I don't mind something that spends time in its hide, but I would like to see it a decent amount of the time too.

Thanks for any help.

Not kept them myself but I imagine they're not much different to my N. incei and H. sp. "Dominican Republic", both of which web a lot but still show themselves often enough.

I currently have a juvie Longipes that Ive had since it was 1cm. It is out on show 90% of the time.
Very fast and very skittish & rarely see it eat (although it must do)
Its home gets sprayed once a week, but in warmer weather, its done twice a week.
Does not need a huge home, hasnt really webbed much, even though there are plenty of anchor points.
I find this t easy to care for,but watch out,its gone in the blink of an eye!

Mine is still very tiny, but it sits out in the open a fair but in the enclosure. Not as much webbing as my N. Incei, and maybe a bit more skittish/quick to dart to the burrow when disturbed. Mine is still developing its color, but they have a lovely iridescent sheen. Care is pretty standard for a terrestrial sling. They are a bit less bold about eating than some other species.
