The "lip" on the lid makes it look thicker.. The actual container.. Its probably no more than .25" thick.. IF that! But they work great..

Nice Tommy. You guys can check Hobby Lobby's website each week for their sales. Something is always 40-50% off. If not, you can sometimes print out a coupon.
