Hello everyone! I just found this site last week, and I wanted to ask a few things! I've been studying spiders since I was roughly seven, and after a lot of convincing with ,my parents, I got my first T sling in October of 2024. Currently, I have a Grammostola pulchripes sling, which is roughly 6 months old right now. They're my first T ever, and as much as I love them, they don't do much right now, considering that they're still a baby. So, I came up with an idea to get a second spider, probably a jumping spider because they'll live for the same amount of time it will take for my Chaco to fully grow. So my question for you guys is which species would be best for a beginner like me?

Try searching for local reptile expos near you, they tend to have a ton of options.

There is also the classifieds section on this site where you can search for what you are after.

They are pet rocks.

Jumpers are definitely more active for obvious reasons.

Out of all of the new keepers I've talked to , it's definitely the one thing I always push.

I would go with Phidippus audax or Phidippus regius.

make sure and research whatever species interests you before buying. so everything goes smoothly for you both.

Best species is whatever you can readily but of course, ethically get your hands on.
Regius is probably going to be your best bet.
Don't be fooled, these guys will get you obsessed. Prepare for more enclosures. Maybe even build a shelf for all of em.
