Yes spot clean .Well, you either go in with a qtip, or you don’t. This would be a thread for tarantula questions and discussions.
open it up and spoon it out.
spot clean will resolve everything. Then drying out can keep things up to scale.I would dry the enclosure out not rehouse , not sure it should be that wet either. I kept mine half dry half damp not wet sub.
Yes spot clean .
this always happened to me because a piece of food was gone a miss.
The thing is when they eat since I have to 2 they take there food in the tunnels never bring out the bolus so that’s what’s going on when they feed.spot clean will resolve everything. Then drying out can keep things up to scale.
this happens around leftovers or bits n pieces. Ive seen it in my enclosures.
I have only dampened the substrate once when the T was housed all they had since was a water dish. The thing is it’s underneath the tunnel where the T hides way in the back of the wall it would be a giant pain to try and clean it with out destroying its tunnels plus freaking out the T.I would dry the enclosure out not rehouse , not sure it should be that wet either. I kept mine half dry half damp not wet sub.

2 in same enclosure? The thing is when they eat since I have to 2 they take there food in the tunnels never bring out the bolus so that’s what’s going on when they feed.
So if it’s in the back of the enclosure under the tunnel I would have to destroy the tunnel to clean it plus disturb the T ?. Sucks cause it’s way in the back under the tunnel where the little guy hides lol.Just spot clean with tweezers.
You clean what you have access too. Thats it. I have seen no one else say they constantly destroy everything to remove a bit of poop. I know i can’t.So if it’s in the back of the enclosure under the tunnel I would have to destroy the tunnel to clean it plus disturb the T ?. Sucks cause it’s way in the back under the tunnel where the little guy hides lol.
Sorry no I have 2 h Mac’s is what I meant to say. Separate enclosure.2 in same enclosure?
i get you cant clean everything. When mold appears if its at a reach you get to it. What else can you do.
excellent. If you said two in one i would have to judge you.Sorry no I have 2 h Mac’s is what I meant to say. Separate enclosure.
I’d hope he misspoke and there’s only one t . That is so . Just remove the mold or ignore it .2 in same enclosure?

Was the container too wet ? I don’t think it should be wet enough for spring tails?? I doubt mold caused it. Now charcoal I dono…Well guys….im not sure what happen I have 2 H.macs the one in the above picture. Passed away im not sure exactly why , I spot cleaned as much as I could everything seemed fine. I cleaned the water dish added fresh water. It was lively last night I gott of work today and found him curled up…..now I’m not 100 percent certain but I added a few spring tails to the enclosure hoping it would help with clean up over time. When I did pour the spring tails in they went in with some charcoal. I left the charcoal pieces in there the little guy was literally curled up on top of it I don’t know but I’m thinking that maybe the charcoal killed it from the spring tails I’m not sure. I’m still pretty upset and filled with gloom didn’t even want to eat or do anything. I took my other H Mac and rehoused in a cleaner environment with nothing crazy in it so I can keep my eye on it better. I’m just not sure why and how it died. And I can’t help to blame my self for doing something wrong.
Pictures might narrow it down if they help .. sorry for your losses. When I cleaned the enclosure it was dry atleast the top layer once I dug up everything the substrate was damp still and where the web tunnels were all of that was dry as well. I’m really not sure…sucks my little guy past away. I just don’t get it that’s why I got scared and rehoused my other H mac same enclosure just cleaned everything. This time I’ll keep an eye on it see what happens. The last enclosure was pure coco fiber. This one is top soil very little cocfiber sphagnum moss mixed together not wet barely damp with a cork bark and a dish glued to the bark this time. Since now I see him/her moving upwards staying up high more.
